The Mendocino Film Festival has one of the best festival vibes I have ever experienced! We will always remember Mendocino!
— Martin Shore, Take Me to the River
Mendocino sparks creativity, from the rolling hills to the majestic redwoods to the stunning coastline. Small wonder that this remarkable region, with its dramatic vistas and breathtaking natural beauty, has been the backdrop for the work of generations of filmmakers, writers, and artists. East of Eden, The Russians are Coming! The Russians are Coming!, Same Time, Next Year, The Uninvited, Summer of ’42, and many other award-winning films have incorporated Mendocino’s sweeping land and seascapes over the years.
With the arrival of the Mendocino Film Festival on the scene in 2006, the community found another medium for creative expression. Over the last ten years, the festival has evolved into something unique, offering a new model for community collaboration, audience engagement, independent filmmaking, and artistic expression (not to mention, a showcase of the finest local film, culinary stars, brewmasters, and wineries that Mendocino has to offer).
Whether you come to Mendocino to find inspiration, to see powerful and poignant independent films that you won’t find anywhere else, or simply to enjoy the fresh air and vibrant cultural scene, you have come to the right place. Join us for another extraordinary edition of the Mendocino Film Festival June 1-4, 2017 and experience the magic firsthand.
