Classic Film Series

The Classic Film Series, founded in 2019, provides year-round programming for our community at the Coast Cinemas in Fort Bragg. See films as they were meant to be seen, on the big screen with the highest quality audio and visual available.

Perhaps you are wondering what constitutes a Classic Film and how do we choose the films? The series has used a few guidelines.

Films that:

  • Are best appreciated on a large screen with a great sound system
  • Capture a period in time or a theme
  • Demonstrate a mastery of filmmaking technique
  • Are 30 years or older

Each season, a select number of films that met the above criteria are selected from the catalogs of distributors MFF has access to and then we poll local folks and business’ to create the final selections. While there are times it is perhaps… uncomfortable to watch some sequences or behavior in older films, we’re looking at you Prince and Jimmy Stewart, thankfully times change and taken as a whole we hope that these films match your definition of Classic.
