Lori Singer to attend the 2017 Mendocino Film Festival
Our list of attendees for the Festival, June 1-4, keeps growing.
In addition to Pierce and Keely Shaye Brosnan coming to show their film Poisoning Paradise, the festival will host actress/cellist Lori Singer who will be attending to support God Knows Where I Am, along with filmmakers Jedd and Todd Wider. Singer provides the soulful narration to the artful documentary which explores homelessness and mental illness. Besides starring in ‘80s classics like Footloose and Fame, Singer recently produced the acclaimed, Emmy-winning HBO documentary Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God
Up and coming filmmakers Levi Smock and Kieran Valla will be attending with their dramatic thriller Delinquent. Smock is a U.S. Navy veteran who produced and co-wrote Delinquent, along with director Valla. The film has played at film festivals all over the world, from the Austrian Alps to Austin, Texas and won numerous awards.
The festival draws an increasing numbers of filmmakers and avid attendees from around the world, while maintaining its commitment to the local community. It offers a unique opportunity to meet filmmakers and film aficionados in the intimate and strikingly beautiful setting of seaside Mendocino.
Special Narrative and Documentary Juries of film executives, journalists and filmmakers have been added this year. Winning films will be announced at a special event on Thursday night.
This marks the festival’s most international and far-reaching program to date, with 65 films from 23 countries.
