2017 Official SelectionsA Dynamic Dozen Years

Marking our 12th anniversary in beautiful Mendocino, this will be the festival’s most geographically diverse and far-reaching program to date. More filmmakers than ever before will be attending to talk about their films, and the festival will feature several celebrity guests, special events, and rousing musical evenings.

Cinema from all over the world is the heart and soul of the festival. Music and art, as well as culinary excellence, combine with award-winning cinema and of-the-moment Sundance hits to make for an essential festival experience.

Special Events

From Rock legends to local film to our Children’s Program, this year’s Spotlight Programs and Special Events highlight the best of our community and its many passions.

On Friday, June 2nd, we screen Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, a documentary about the largely unacknowledged Native American influence on American music, particularly rock and roll, followed by a live musical performance featuring The Steven Bates Band. Saturday Night we travel to Cuba with Give Me Future as we revel in this feel-good documentary filmed in Havana, Cuba. Then join in the after-party dance

with a special guest DJ. Our Children’s Program brings lighthearted entertainment to our littlest fans, and Reel Mendo showcases our local filmmakers. Stay tuned as we continue to announce our special guests.

Opening Night Party

Opening Night Celebration

Our exclusive Opening Night Celebration at the picturesque and historic Hill House Inn on Friday, June 2, takes its inspiration from the film Ella Brennan: Commanding the Table. Experience the warmth and hospitality of the New Orleans’ Commander’s Palace, one of the most critically-acclaimed and beloved restaurants in the country, with a party like never before.

Chef Marc Dym

Pop-Up Box Office & Dine Out Benefit at Little River Inn

Five-star Chef Marc Dym will be commanding the kitchen as we celebrate the arrival of our 2017 Program Books, fresh from the printer, on   Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 5pm – 8pm at the Little River Inn Restaurant and Bar.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Mendocino Film Festival.

Join us for an evening of delicious giving and mingle with our Program Director, Claudia Puig, and our Board of Directors and team in the cozy bar cafe.  Or reserve a restaurant dinner date with your movie-loving friends and make your festival selections together.

Our Pop-Up Box Office will be open from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the Little River Inn Parlor.  This will be your first opportunity to purchase tickets in person, securing your seats for our often sold-out shows.

Restaurant dinner reservations are available from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and are encouraged for this popular event.  You can make reservations by calling 707-937-5942.

A delicious and delightful way to support bringing films and filmmakers to the Coast!
