Originally planted in 1998, Balo Vineyards is a small, family owned winery in the Anderson Valley. Our wines are made entirely from estate grown fruit and the mature vines, five carefully chosen clones (115,777,828, Martini and Pommard) and a world class microclimate all come together in the bottle.

The year’s end (2015) brings an avalanche of gold to us at North Coast Brewing Company as we celebrate a record setting twelve gold medals in the World Beer Championships hosted by the Beverage Testing Institute.
When the grapes reach their peak ripeness they are hand picked early in the morning and carefully sorted before and after the de-stemming process allowing only the most ideal fruit to pass. The wines are whole berry fermented using wild and heritage Burgundian yeasts in single-ton open top fermenters.
