Rogljevo, a small Serbian village, was once home to award-winning wines, but in the past 100 years, the population has diminished substantially, leaving an aging community with few successors to that tradition. Meanwhile, a French family has moved into town, and they are determined to modernize the wine production process and bring Rogljevo to the attention of the international wine scene. The French vintners struggle to convince their distrusting Serbian partners of the merits of their foreign techniques, however, and they find another obstacle in bringing the wines to market in France, where sommeliers lack knowledge of the Balkans, and most customers prefer to sample French wines. Is there any hope for Rogljevo and its hidden treasures? Will the heirs to Rogljevo’s viticultural tradition be able to band together to save it before it’s too late?

Change Over Horse Haven Ranch
A little over five years ago, Horse Haven Ranch, a one-hundred-year-old homestead in Anderson Valley, California, was demolished. This photo expose explores the demolition and the influence it had on the artist’s paintings. The commentary is about a specific place, yet relevant to poignant and inevitable change anywhere. This piece is part of the artist’s ongoing interest and study about place and the land. 6 minutes.
