“A wonder of photography, animation, and sound, and it's a testament to its editors that the many interviews with activists and scientists are compelling and informative, sometimes even poetic.”

Daphne Howland, The Village Voice

Worshipped and treasured since the dawn of humankind, few things on Earth are as miraculous and vital as seeds. In the last century, however, 94% of our seed varieties have disappeared. SEED: The Untold Story follows the passionate seed keepers protecting our 12,000 year-old food legacy. Meanwhile, biotech chemical companies control the majority of our seeds, forcing farmers, scientists, lawyers, and indigenous seed keepers to fight a David and Goliath battle to defend the future of our food. In a harrowing and heartening story, these heroes revive a culture connected to seeds as they rekindle a lost connection to our most treasured resource. SEED features Vandana Shiva, Dr. Jane Goodall, Andrew Kimbrell, Winona Laduke, and Raj Patel. In English, Hindi, and Spanish with English subtitles.
