(Q&A with Keely and Pierce Brosnan after screening)

Journey to the seemingly idyllic world of Hawaii, where local activists are fighting political corruption, corporate bullying, and systematic concealment by the agrichemical industry, becoming champions of a grassroots movement in the process. In this island paradise in peril, where native communities are surrounded by experimental test sites for genetically engineered seed corn and pesticides, activists battle to advance bold new legislation to protect the fate of their island home.
Interviews with residents, scientists, and healthcare professionals reveal the hardships and ecological dangers of pesticide applications and the environmental injustice thrust upon people living in one of the most beautiful, biologically unique, and diverse locations on earth. Kauai’s plight is more than a local issue; similar debates are raging around the world about the future of food, as communities grapple with pesticides and explore sustainable farming practices.
