We are proud to present our most international and award-winning program yet, featuring three Oscar nominees (two winners), three films fresh from Sundance, three California Premieres, and a U.S. Premiere, as well as spotlight programs, special events, filmmaker Q&As and panels, and Festival celebrations.
Tickets go on sale to Mendocino Film Festival members on April 23 and to the general public on May 1. In the meantime, feel free to peruse our 2016 films, programs, and events. See you at the movies!
Lori Donnelly comes to us by way of Rochester, where she programmed for George Eastman House. She has also worked with AFI Silver Theatre, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Brattle Theatre. With the goal of introducing audiences to more diverse subjects, films, and filmmakers while maintaining the core tone of the Festival, she has selected an impressive program of films that continue to garner recognition.
“Getting to introduce a new audience to new works” is what drew Guest Curator Joshua Moore to the Mendocino Film Festival. A graduate of San Francisco State and a filmmaker himself, Joshua started out as a programmer with Mill Valley Film Festival before joining the Jewish Film Institute. In his role with the Mendocino Film Festival, he has curated a special track of Bay Area films for 2016: Dogfight, Golden Kingdom, T-Rex, and Theory of Obscurity.
